Welcome to Atticus Software's Christmas Lights. This demonstration version is identical to the retail program except that:
• This copy will quit after 5 minutes of use.
• This copy shows only 8 different light bulbs (the real program has nearly 30).
• This copy plays only 4 songs (the real thing has over 20), and you must already own QuickTime 2.0 to hear them. The real program comes with QuickTime 2.0 and the QuickTime Musical Instruments file, allowing you to play all the songs at high quality on computers that can use QuickTime 2.0.
Christmas Lights has a suggested retail price of $19.95 and is available directly from Atticus Software at 203-348-6100. Christmas Lights can also be purchased through most of the major Macintosh mail order catalogs.
HOW TO USE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS:
• In order to play music with the Christmas Lights Demonstration version you will need to have "QuickTime 2.0" and "QuickTime Musical Instruments" files installed in your extensions folder. These files are not supplied with the demonstration version, however they are included with the retail version. You will also need to have the "Holiday Music" folder in the same folder as the Christmas Lights application.
• To start Christmas Lights double-click the Christmas Lights program icon. In a moment, your Macintosh will be adorned by festive holiday bulbs. It will also play music if you have QuickTime 2.0 installed.
• Adjust the type and position of your lights by choosing "Bulb Factory" from the settings menu. Drag lights from the scrolling list of bulbs in the center of the screen to the desired position in the boxes. When you click "OK" your new lights appear on the screen.
• Click "Choose Flash Pattern..." from the Bulb Factory window to adjust flashing speed and pattern.
• Select "Snow Blower" from the settings menu to control the snowy screen saver.
•Choose "Music Box" from the settings menu to control the music that plays as your lights flash (this feature is only available if you have QuickTime 2.0 installed).
Christmas Lights will play any music in QuickTime MIDI format. To activate your music, put the desired QuickTime movies in the folder called "Holiday Music" (in the same folder as Christmas Lights) and then check-mark their names in the Music Box.
We hope you enjoy Christmas Lights - happy holidays!
